Solar Energy is now cost competitive with all other forms of electricity generation. The solar industry is continually improving the quality of photovoltaic (PV) systems, to generate more electricity at lower costs, and increase the life of panels. USI is developing high performance silicon materials for the solar PV industry using a low cost, proprietary silicon refinement and crystalization technology to increase the performance of PV silicon ingots, wafers and cells. This is the first plant of its kind in Canada.
