Carries out fundamental & applied research in forest biology, & trains graduate students & postdoctoral fellows. Research projects emphasize the adaptations of trees & their interactions with the environment. Works with scientists from Forestry Canada at the Pacific Forestry Centre & the Laurentian Forestry Centre, as well as the B.C. Ministry of Forests & Range. Fosters linkages with the forest industry & private sector laboratories, & work to facilitate the transfer of technology & knowledge to the broader community.
